Slice the oranges
Begin by slicing the oranges and adding the to a roasting tray covered with parchment paper.
Add peeled cloves of garlic to the roasting try next to the slices of oranges.
Add Rosemary & Olive Oil
Add fresh or dried sprigs of rosemary and plenty of olive oil. I prefer to use fresh herbs whenever I can!
The last thing to add to the bottom of the roasting tray is fresh sage. It's so delicious in this holiday turkey recipe.
Add the ingredients for herb butter to a bowl and mix them until they are well combined.
Make herb butter
Slather the turkey
Slather the top of the whole turkey all over with the herb butter, making sure you get into all the nooks and crannies.
Stuff the bird
Stuff the inside of the turkey with fresh orange slices, sage, rosemary, and garlic cloves.
Flip the bird
Flip the turkey over (you may need help with this!) and slather it with the herb butter all over.
Pour olive oil over the upside down turkey and then roast it for 30 minutes (upside down).
Flip it back
Flip the bird back over, slather it with more of the garlic herb butter, and continue roasting the turkey.
Allow the Roasted Citrus Turkey to rest for 30 minutes before slicing and serving. This helps to lock in the moisture and keep it nice and juicy.
