Add Water.
Begin by adding water to a small or medium sauce pan, or a slow cooker. You could also add fresh fruit juice.
Add spices.
Next, add in whole spices. I added cloves, star anise, and Chinese cinnamon. The full post has other additions listed for you to make it your own.
Add Fresh herb.
I added in 2-3 springs of rosemary. You could also add pine branches, juniper berries, or bay leaves.
Add Cranberries.
Toss in a cup of either fresh or frozen cranberries. Dried cranberries won't work unfortunately!
Add fresh fruit.
I like to slice or quarter an orange and pop it in. Grapefruit, apple, lemon, and pears are also great options.
Boil and reduce.
Bring the water to a boil and then reduce the heat to a low simmer on the lowest heat.
Simmer.
Allow to pot to simmer for 2-3 hours, topping up the water as needed. You can store it in the fridge once its cool and use it a couple more times.
